Every recital, pedagogical masterclass, and public heritage assembly organized by the Association des Amis des Orgues de Saverdun is unconditionally free and open to all citizens across Ariège and Occitanie.
Universal Free Admission & Community Access Mandate
In accordance with our Association Loi 1901 statutes, AOES practices universal free admission for 100% of our programmed events. No tickets, reservations fees, or commercial charges are ever levied on attendees.
Whether you are a lifelong resident of Saverdun, a music student from Pamiers, an agrarian family from the surrounding canton, or a traveler discovering the heritage of Occitanie, our doors are open to you. All concerts in Saverdun Church provide dedicated wheelchair-accessible seating, large-screen video projections of the organ console, and free program notes.
Statutory Provision: "All membership fees and dues are fully reinvested in the association's public interest missions."
Cycle 1: "Les Concerts du Patrimoine" - Spring & Summer Series
Our premier concert series brings acclaimed virtuoso organists to rural Ariège, paired with regional instrumental soloists (trumpets, flutes, cellos, and vocal ensembles) to showcase the acoustic versatility of the Saverdun organ.
Logistical Architecture & Repertoire
Concerts are scheduled on Sunday afternoons at 16:30 or Saturday evenings at 20:30, aligning with village transportation and market hours. Programs feature masterpieces from the Baroque Golden Age (J.S. Bach, Buxtehude, Couperin), the French Romantic symphonic school (César Franck, Charles-Marie Widor), and contemporary regional Occitan compositions.
Each recital is preceded by a ten-minute educational introduction by the organist, explaining the mechanical registrations used and the historical background of the works performed.

Cycle 2: "L'Orgue Expliqué aux Jeunes" - Educational School Workshops
Developed in close collaboration with the Inspection Académique de l'Ariège and regional educators, this program brings elementary and middle school classes directly to the organ console for an interactive, multisensory exploration of acoustic science and music.
Acoustic Physics
Pupils experiment with small individual pipes, discovering how length, diameter, and air velocity determine frequency, pitch, and timbre.
Mechanics & Pneumatics
A transparent model rollerboard shows children how depressing a keyboard key pulls slender cedar trackers to open air valves beneath the pipes.
Direct Hands-on Play
Under the supervision of our titulaire organist, each child plays a note, pulls stops (Bourdon, Flûte, Trompette), and feels the air pressure vibrate through their hands.

Volunteer Operational Roles for Upcoming Events
The flawless execution of our free concerts depends entirely upon our civic volunteer force. We are actively enrolling volunteers for the 2026 season in the following essential field roles:
Ushers & Welcomers
Greeting spectators at the church portico, distributing program brochures, guiding mobility-impaired attendees to accessible seats, and monitoring nave doors.
Audio-Visual Technicians
Assisting with the setup of high-definition cameras in the organ loft, routing cables to nave display monitors, and recording archival audio tapes.
Conviviality Team
Preparing the post-concert community reception in the parish hall, serving local refreshments, and fostering friendly dialogue between musicians and attendees.
